Both platforms are certified for ATEX and IECEx as standard in a cast iron frame with extra ingress protection (IP55) for increased safety. ABB Flameproof motors are available from stock in ratings of .75 – 60 HP. Flameproof motors are designed for Zone 1 locations where incidental explosive atmospheres may be present during normal duty. ABB Non-Sparking motors are also available from stock in ratings of .75 – 125 HP. These motors are designed for Zone 2 locations, where presence of explosive atmospheres is present only by accident.”
